Career Advice: Self-limiting beliefs

Aka "Don't bleed before you're wounded". I've personally done this a lot in my life, which has led me to a conversation with my children: we often talk about the "thought of doing something being very different to the reality of doing something".

Don't let your negative thoughts or "conditioning" cheat you from the success you deserve, through either fear and/or inaction.

There is a structured way of thinking to challenge self-limiting beliefs starting with asking yourself: "Do I know this belief to be true...?" - i.e. what makes me think I can't do this. If you then follow that up with "Can I prove that this is true...?" - i.e. point to empirical evidence to convince you that this is not possible... you'll hopefully be positively surprised by the results. In the case of most reasonable, legal endeavours I'm pretty sure you will (hopefully) be of the opinion that your negative thoughts can be suppressed on the basis of no evidence.

There are 2 additional layers that can be applied to this practice, I have never needed to pursue them personally as the above has helped to suppress negative or self-limiting beliefs, to overcome negative thoughts and move forward - I hope the same works for you.
